Dr. Joanneke Maitz is a surgeon-scientist in burns and reconstructive surgery with a strong focus in translational skin tissue engineering research. Dr. Maitz leads the Burns & Reconstructive Surgery Research Group at the ANZAC Research Institute of Concord Repatriation General Hospital, Sydney and is a clinical senior lecturer at the University of Sydney. Dr Maitz’s focus in translational research of clinical and laboratory-based research of skin, wound healing, burns, scarring, and bioengineering in burns and reconstructive surgery is aimed at bridging clinical, scientific and commercial fields
