Dr Anna Nicholson is a Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Behavioural Research in Cancer at Cancer Council Victoria, and an Honorary Fellow at the University of Melbourne’s School of Population and Global Health. Dr Nicholson obtained her PhD in 2016 and has accrued over a decade of experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects across academic, not-for-profit and government settings. This has included leading the research and evaluation of national and state-level population-health programs, including SunSmart Victoria. Dr Nicholson’s research focuses on how to prevent cancer through better design, testing, implementation and scale-up of population health interventions. Recently, her work has focused on skin cancer prevention, health communications, sunscreen labelling, and personalised prevention messaging. She has a strong interest in health communications, policy evaluation, and systems change.
