Dr Alvin H Chong MBBS, M.Med, FACD is Visiting Specialist Dermatologist at Skin Health Institute and Director of Dermatology Education at St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne.

In addition, Dr Chong has a position as Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Melbourne. Dr Chong’s research interest is in cutaneous carcinogenesis, particularly in solid organ transplant recipients and is an international authority on this topic. He founded the dedicated Transplant Dermatology Clinic at Skin Health Institute which was the first clinic of its type in Australia.

Dr Chong’s other interests are in dermatology education and social media. In 2020, he created and co-hosted the Spot Diagnosis Podcast Series on skin diseases for the education of health professionals. The podcast is in its 8th season and has had more than 150000 downloads and streams. Spot Diagnosis Podcast is considered the premier podcast for medical information on skin health globally. He is also leading  research on how social media is affecting perception and therapy of skin disease.
